ONE
WHO IS ANN PEACOCK?
Hi my name is Ann Peacock. I just celebrated my 60th birthday. I made sure I had numerous celebrations, even dinners at restaurants one month after, we were saying it was my birthday!
I have 2 boys, 25 yoa and 23 yoa: my children are my absolute world, everything revolves around them – the used to call me a helicopter mum and I still am (they hate it)

YOU ARE A DIRECTOR OF THE VICTORIA RACING CLUB, WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GO ON ITS BOARD?
I grew up with an interest in horse racing through my parents love of the horse and the sport.
In 1976 our horse Leilani ran second in the Melbourne Cup.
my mother’s second marriage was to Robert Sangster who had an interest in racing and breeding throughout the world.
We were so lucky to travel to the most important races all over the world with them.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE?
I am a strong woman who likes very much to work and work hard. If I am given a task, I will do it immediately. I cannot stand tardiness.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE? ANY STYLE TIPS FOR RACE GOERS?
My style is; whatever I love to wear, what brings a smile to me. I start looking for Melbourne Cup Carnival race year very early in the new year. I buy a lot of my clothes online. Whatever I choose for the most special week of racing in the world (The Melbourne Cup carnival) I put away in the cupboard and pull out to wear close to the carnival. I always reuse a dress, once twice or three times for days racing. No one remembers and if you love what you are wearing, then that is all that matters.

WITH SUCH A VARIED CAREER WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I am most proud of my 2 boys, they mean everything and more to me.
Professionally, in my 43 years of working – I loved my time presenting the weather live on Channel 9 in Melbourne, I loved being on radio and I obviously loved my roles at the Crown Entertainment Complex, because I stayed there 30 years.
During my time at Crown, I looked after Charity and Sponsorship - This portfolio was truly the most fulfilling.
Each Christmas Day, the boys and I would head out to deliver Christmas presents and food hampers for families, I was with an incredible team that set up “The Million Dollar Lunch”, an brilliant fundraiser that raises over one (and mostly now 2) million dollars for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

QUICK FIRE QUESTIONS
What are you currently reading?
I love hard copy books. I was recently in Dubai for 5 days and I read 5 books. I couldn’t name them as I love to give my books away after reading. If I am on a break, I will just read read read, it is a wonderful form of relaxation.
What are you binging on TV?
Any crime, drama, thriller
Favourite flowers?
Jasmine & Gardenias
Favourite scent?
Angel by Thierry Mugler, I have been wearing for 34 years
Fave piece from our collection?
I am in love with the skirts. The fit is perfect; I was worried that they would be too slim fitting but the wool is soft and very complimentary
Drink of Choice?
Freshly squeezed orange and pineapple juice
